I am owner and director of CSD, with 18 years of dance teaching experience. I've studied several genres of dance, Lyrical being my favorite. I began my dance journey at Waycross Dance and Gymnastics at the age of 3 and I've been dancing my way through life ever since! I spent most of my dance training years at Dance Academy of Thomasville and also danced for 3 years at Wise Dancenter of Louisiana. My teaching career started when I began a dance program at the age of 15 at my high school in Athens, Louisiana. I then taught for Mrs. Susan Knisely at Dance Academy of Thomasville for 13 years and was named Artistic Director. After much prayer and a leap of faith, I decided to follow my dreams and open Charla’s School of Dance. Dreams really do come true! I first opened a studio in Tallahassee in 2018 and then moved my studio to Thomasville in 2020.  

 

With an Associate Degree in Social Work, I am able to see children in a different light that forces me to ensure my students are in an environment that will protect their physical and mental health. I continue to seek out knowledge of dance by attending conventions, workshops and classes. 

 

I have been married to my husband Robby for 12 years and we have 2 beautiful children, Teagan and Wilder. I am blessed to have Teagan and my 3 nieces, Scarlett, Bailey and Mia as CSD dancers!
