PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Nativity Ballet & Christmas Recital
Each year at Christmas, dancers will bring to life the true meaning of Christmas by taking the audience back to the scene of the Nativity. This coveted performance is so much more than a recital! It is a way for our dancers to reach into the hearts of the audience by honoring the birth of our Lord and Savior. Costume fees, costumes are a requirement to participate, will be due in installments starting in September. These costumes will also be worn in our spring recital. A recital fee will be due in November. This is a ticketed event.
Spring Recital
End of the school year means end of the year recital for our dancers! Dances will follow a story line or theme as they showcase all they have learned throughout the year. With beautiful costumes and professional show quality, dancers will feel like a star! Costume fees, a requirement to participate, will be due in installments starting in September. A recital fee will be due in March. This is a ticketed event.
Thomasville Rose Parade & Christmas Parade
All CSD students are invited to participate in our local downtown parades! Whether you learn a dance to perform down Broad Street, walk and wave or ride on our themed parade float, we want YOU to join in on the fun! Parents included!
Charla’s School of Dance Performance & Competitive Company
Dancers who are interested in more disciplined training and more performance opportunities, will enjoy being a part of our performance company. We will perform at events, parades and Disney! Dancers must be willing to participate in fundraisers and all performance opportunities. The Performance Company has danced at Victorian Christmas, the Thomasville Christmas and Rose Parades, Parades in Boston Bainbridge Moultrie and Pavo, Thomasville First Friday, Parade at Disney's Magic Kingdom, Pre-Game Opener for the Orlando Magic, Waterside Stage at Disney Springs, The Island in Pigeon Forge, Kidsfest, Northtown Getdowns, Making Strides for Cancer and as a Pre-Game Opener for the Harlem Globetrotters. Our Competitive Companies compete 2-3 times per year at local competitions. You must audition to join these teams. Auditions for the 2025/2026 dance year were held in June 2025.
